THE IDEA
The Polo del Sorriso was born in 2013 from an idea by Marco and Flaminia Elser. Motivated by the desire to help children who are born with correctable facial malformations around the world, they decided to combine their passion for the Polo with the desire for solidarity by organizing a unique sporting event in the genre. Every year Il Polo del Sorriso involves professional Polo players but also many people who have decided to support the cause.
American Int'l Club of Rome
American Int'l Club of Rome was founded in 1953 by Henry Luce the founder of Time magazine, the husband of the U.S. Ambassador to Italy Clare Boothe Luce whom felt there was a need for an organization that would provide opportunities for meeting regularly with other Americans. The club has transformed into an internationally focused non profit organization based in Rome with the goals of promoting American culture in Italy. Today the tradition of Honorary President and Vice Presidents continues with each US Ambassador to Italy, The Holy Sea and the US UN mission.
The American Int'l Club of Rome welcomes American and non-American executives, diplomats, teachers, and international citizens of the world looking to expand our network while supporting a good cause, having fun, and growing professionally.
