Silvia Anna Zamarripa

President (2021-Present) Board Member (2019)

Silvia Anna Zamarripa moved to Rome from Dallas, Texas in 2007.  She move to Abu Dhabi in 2008 and Singapore in 2015 and has recently returned to settle down in Frascati.  After living abroad she felt that she could add value to the American Club of Rome by sharing her experience as an Ex-Pat with American and International newcomers to Italy.  A native English-speaking legal and business translator from Dallas, Texas, she has over 20 years of experience working in the US, UAE, Singapore and Italy for multinational companies such as Amentum, KPMG and Leonardo. As language support, he has worked with the Vatican State authorities and the Bank of Italy. As President of the American Club of Rome (an organisation that aims to provide support to Americans living in Italy) he works to build diplomatic, commercial and cultural relationships that foster the promotion of American values and traditions. As Relationship Manager at Micromegas, he is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relations.

Marco Elser

Vice President (2004-Present) - Board Member (2004-2021)

Marco Maximilian Elser has been living in Rome since 1984. With an American father and an Italian mother, he is a true Italo American. He has served in various capacities on the Board of ACR, first as a Board Member and more recently Vice President. An avid polo  player, he is also involved in charitable work, serving on the Board of Fondazione Operation Smile Italy (an organisation which treats children suffering from cleft palate and other periodontal  diseases). He has served on the Board of Italian and US companies for more than twenty years. Previously with Merrill Lynch, Marco is now a  partner at Lonsin Capital, an investment banking boutique based in London. He speaks five languages. He obtained his B.A. from Harvard in 1981.

Danilo Mori

Treasurer (2022-Present)

Danilo Mori lived for 15 years in the US where he worked as a specialist in international higher education. In 2020, he decided to move back to his home country and settle down in Rome, where he works as a translator and interpreter. After traveling around the world for many years and establishing a wide network of contacts, he now wants to enjoy Rome and Italy. At the same time, he still wants to be in contact with the American culture and people, which are part of his life and which he loves immensely. This is why he decided to become an active member of AICR.  Danilo enjoys fine food, wines, exploring his country and connecting with new people.

Diana Rocco

Diana Rocco

Secretary (2022-present) - Board Member (2019-present)

Diana Rocco was born in New York City to Italian immigrant parents. She has a degree in Economics from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from Cardozo Law School in New York. Her previous work experience includes humanitarian legal assistance and lawyer linguist services. Her passions include enology, skiing, sailing, and traveling. She speaks English, Italian, and French.

Blaine Brown

Blaine Brown

Club & Event Consultant (2020-2023) - Board Member (2020-present)

Blaine Brown hails from Los Angeles from an Italian-American family.  As a singer-songwriter, she lived all over the US, from Boston to Hawaii to New Orleans.  In 2011, she joined her mother's company Escape Artists and entered the world of luxury travel design.  She decided to move to Perugia in 2015 and open an Italian office, then relocated to Rome in 2017, where she now resides to better help her clients and have the opportunity to see as much of this amazing country as possible.  As a musician, AIS and Court of Masters sommelier, and overall enthusiasm generator, she is thrilled to be part of ACR and share her experiences with newcomers and residents alike.

Amy Cenci

Board Member (2022-present)

Amy Cenci has called the Eternal City her home since 2020. A Georgia peach transplant from Atlanta and seasoned digital marketer, she relocated to Italy to further her company’s EU expansion, particularly within the Italian recruitment industry. And, you may have guessed: she has Italian roots too! Her family hails from the lesser known (but equally noteworthy) region of Molise, which she is always happy to talk about. Bringing people together, connecting ideas, and creative networking come second nature to her, which are a few of the many reasons she’s proud to be an ACR member and advocate.

Stela Taneva

Board Member (2018-Present)

Stela Taneva was born in Bulgaria. She has been living in Italy for almost 30 years. The first ten years she lived in Milan where she graduated in psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan. She continued her studies in Rome where she specialized in strategic psychotherapy. She continued her training with Ericksonian hypnosis, sexology, legal psychology and effective communication techniques. She manages group activities for the prevention of burnout for health professionals, psychological support and grief counseling at the "S. Maria Goretti" Hospital in Latina at the Organ donation coordination UOCs, Emergency room, Neurology, Reanimation and Intensive Care. She also works as a freelancer with clinical activities, psychotherapy, training and counseling. She commits herself with passion to create events dedicated to personal development and the improvement of quality of conscious life. She is interested in books (she reads over 200 books a year with different genres), art, music and travel.

She is a member of the American International Club of Rome for several years and she is part of other international communities. She has two citizenships. She speaks English fluently. She aims to organize cultural activities for the club, events dedicated to socialization with the opportunity to make short trips outside Rome, to create contacts with other international communities in Rome and to share each other's events in order to enrich the culture, exchange knowledge and increase awareness of the members.

Scotti Rhodes

Board of Directors (2010-Present)

Scotti Rhodes is proud to be living in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. She has been fortunate to be able to continue her work for her New York theater clients since moving to Rome over thirteen years ago. Although her clients are primarily actors and playwrights she has also worked with international artists over the years including an engagement with a Rome based dance company known as Compagnia di Danza Vera Stasi which introduced her to the Eternal City. She has been a publicist for award winning New York productions and worked independently for playwrights such as Murray Schisgal, Dale Wasserman and Oscar winner Alan Ball. She holds a BA in Dramatic Arts from the University of California Berkeley. Having grown up in Los Angeles with family in the film industry she retains a passion for American cinema and is also an enthusiast of art, music, fashion, travel and yoga. She has dual citizenship (US/Italy) and has been on the ACR Board since 2009.

Loretta Dusini

US Embassy Liaison (2010-Present)

Loretta Dusini is a native New Yorker who is currently living and working in Rome. She is the Global Employment Advisor for the Department of State located at the US Embassy in Rome, Italy. She is responsible for assisting US Foreign Service Family Members in all aspects of career management as they follow their partners to various posts worldwide. 

Bob Sonnabend

Board of Directors (2018-2021)

Robert Sonnabend comes from an international business background. He held VP of Marketing & Sales positions for US-based technology businesses, and was the Principal and Managing Director of a UK-based training and consulting company. He developed manufacturing and distribution channels in China and India, including factories in Tianjin, China and Bangalore, India, for mid-size computers and software. He has also worked with businesses in Japan, the UK, France and The Netherlands, as well as extensively throughout the US and the Americas.

 

Currently, he teaches courses in marketing, management, and communications at The American University of Rome, and the Rome Business School.

Marcel Kaminstein is a great supporter of Italian and American culture, he is an Italian American born in the United States and spent half his life between Italy and the US. His mother is from Rome and thanks to her, was exposed to the beauty and culture of Italy. Marcel is fluent in both English and Italian. He did his undergraduate studies at the American University of Rome, receiving an International Business degree in 2002. In 2004, he became a Manager of the Luxury Division for Starboard Cruise Services, an LVMH company, specializing in cruise ship duty-free retail specifically producing jewelry trunk show programs for manufacturers such as Cartier and EFFY.  After creating an organization to manage brands and their logistical distribution to ships worldwide, Marcel successfully lobbied to create a customs ruling in the US to specifically address the industries challenging logistical processes. In 2015, Marcel joined the American Club of Rome Board in various Board roles and even as President for 3 years and he continues to serve as a Board member.  In early 2020, Marcel founded the Italian American Trade Council (IATC), joined the Michael Bloomberg 2020 Presidential campaign, and then he ran in a July special election for PA State Rep of the 156th District (unsuccessfully).  In September 2020, he launched the Pro Business PAC to support Pro Business Democratic candidates and succeeded in having all supported races win the Nov 2020 elections in PA.
