The American International Club of Rome was founded in 1953 by Henry Luce, the founder of Time magazine. He was the husband of the U.S. Ambassador to Italy, Clare Boothe Luce, who felt there was a need for an organization that provided opportunities for Americans to meet with other Americans.
The club has developed into an internationally-focused, non-profit organization which promotes American culture in Italy. In honor of Ambassador Luce, we continue to maintain the tradition of extending to the U.S. Ambassadors to Italy, the Holy See, and the U.S.-U.N. mission the role of honorary President and Vice President.
The American International Club of Rome welcomes American and non-American executives, diplomats, teachers, and international citizens of the world looking to expand our network while supporting a good cause, having fun, and growing professionally.
